Dr. Hoffmann works within a self-regulated learning framework to teach students how to learn more efficiently and improve their overall academic achievement. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Hoffmann is the Associate Director of the Diagnostic Teaching Clinic in the College of Education at NC State University. Her research focuses on reading comprehension and writing proficiency as well as the extent to which metacognition, working memory, processing speed, and executive function impact academic performance - particularly for students considered neurodiverse. Dr. Hoffmann earned a PhD in Educational Psychology from NC State University and holds the following current North Carolina Teaching Certifications: English Language Arts, Reading Specialist, and Learning Disabilities.
